The Heritage Foundation Fund Raises for Teenage Opiate Addiction Rehabilitation Programs Nationwide
Trapped in addiction, your teenage child does not realize that the euphoric sensation they feel from heroin is eating away at their brain’s natural production of serotonin, leaving them depressed and empty should they allow themselves tosober up.
The Heritage Foundation is raising funds for local addiction treatment centers across the United States, and needs your help. Immediate and intensive treatment programs are the only way to guarantee a teen opioid user has the right tools to overcome their addiction.
Oftentimes, by the time a loved one knows that their family member needs help, the addict faces no other options than a long-term residential program that best meets their extensive recovery needs. Aside from 24/7 resources, these programs offer an environment that takes them away from everyday triggers, such as peer pressure from friends or the stress of daily routines.
Some of the most common causes of addiction can include:
– Symptoms of mental illness
– Poor emotional regulation
– Traumatic experiences
– Low self-esteem
Whatever the cause, it is estimated that about 25% of people who use heroin become dependent on this dangerous drug within a month of first using it. What’s worse, is that an adolescent’s brain has prime suitability to opioid addiction as it continues to develop; Teenagers quickly become intensely addicted to one of the most dangerous drugs out there. That is why intensive rehabilitation support is critical to any form of healing and coping with heroin addiction.
Unfortunately, specialized programs for teenage heroin addicts come with a hefty price tag. To alleviate some of this pressure on impacted families, all donations to the Heritage foundation’s fund raiser will support:
• Full-ride grants to local rehabilitation centers for teen addicts
• Out-patient therapy programs for disadvantaged adolescents
